About the Study

The University of Massachusetts-Amherst (UMass), in partnership with the Connect with Kids (CWK) Network, New York City (NYC) Public Schools, Massachusetts Public Schools (MA), and Empirical Education (EE), is proposing a groundbreaking study aimed at equalizing access to individualized instruction and academic mentoring in math. This initiative is part of the Early-Phase Education Innovation and Research grant program, focusing on promoting equity in STEM and addressing the impact of COVID-19 on education.

The Role of MathSpring

MathSpring is an intelligent tutoring system that leverages AI to provide high-dosage, online tutoring. By offering personalized, real-time feedback, MathSpring helps students improve their math skills and enhances their overall learning experience. The system supports grit and measures individual effort, ensuring that students stay engaged and motivated.
